Long-lasting Transfer Carts For Greek Shipbuilding

This project involved a large shipbuilding plant in Greece. The client was looking for an electric transfer cart with 5–6 hours of continuous operation, primarily used to transport heavy decks and other shipbuilding components. The plant's cranes were utilized, and our equipment worked in coordination with them to achieve precise material transfer, loading, and unloading.

At the beginning of the project, we first gained a thorough understanding of the client’s specific requirements and actual operating conditions. They requested a 30-ton material transfer cart to meet their daily transportation needs. After discussion, we agreed on a vehicle size of 6,000 mm × 2,200 mm × 800 mm (originally planned as 1,000 mm × 2,500 mm × 800 mm) to reduce ocean freight costs. This not only fulfilled their operational needs but also lowered transportation expenses.

The client's workshop floor had unique characteristics. Instead of a typical concrete surface, it had many uneven areas, some of which were equipped with steel rails. Using standard polyurethane wheels would have led to rapid wear, significantly shortening the transfer cart 's service life. Therefore, we equipped the cart with large-diameter rubber-tread tires, which offer better surface adaptability and ensure safer and more efficient material transport. 

To protect both personnel and equipment, the cart was fitted not only with standard scanning radar, emergency braking, and overload protection but also with a safety edge contact feature that stops the cart immediately upon encountering an obstacle, further enhancing operational safety.
